Pat Andrea (The Hague, Holland, 1942) won his first drawing prize at the age of six and was one of the representatives of the New Subjectivity movement, launched by Jean Clair in the 1970’s in Paris. In the past ten years, with more than 100 exhibitions, personal, museum and group exhibitions around the world, his fame and the place he occupies in contemporary art today are indisputable.

This series, titled Zelt (Zelt 1915 Max Klinger_Tent 2012 Pat Andrea) is a consequence of a common fascination that both artist and publisher alike have shared for one the great etchers of our time, the German symbolist Max Klinger, since many years Pat Andrea follows a natural evolution of earlier collaborations with Benveniste where former works are used as fusioned references, working
new imagery into the images as by accumulation. Thus, Klinger’s final suite of etchings from 1915 function as a sustained reference upon which Andrea constructs his proper narration.
Of the 7 sets comprising this edition, 5 have been sold as complete sets. The two remaining editions have been split up and are offered as single prints. Please consult our dossier for available single prints.
